Front Sight Steps Up Where Charlton Heston Backs Down

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute is America's most unique gun training school. Its location is not what makes it so bizarre, located about 50 miles outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, it's got a great view of the desert and nothing else. To quote an official from the nearby town or Pahrump on whether he feels Front Sight is a dangerous idea, "Have you been out there? You could shoot a mortar and not hit a thing." It's not Front Sight’s superior firearms training that sets it truly apart, either. Front Sight has, for years, led the industry with its superlative handgun training, shotgun training, rifle training and submachine gun training. Front Sight is unique because it is standing up when the N.R.A. is backing down.

Front Sight offers free submachine gun courses to new students as an incentive to get the students to Front Sight. As approximately 95% of the students come back to a paid course, the cost of a submachine gun course is covered. Dr. Ignatius Piazza, Front Sight's founder and director, wants to advertise this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to the members of the N.R.A., America's leader in gun carrying rights. Dr. Piazza's desire to have N.R.A. members know of the free submachine gun courses goes beyond profit, though. Dr. Piazza has already trained 6,500 law-abiding citizens and law enforcement personnel in safe automatic weapon use, why shouldn't he go on to train N.R.A. members?

Because the N.R.A. is afraid of political repercussions. According to the World Net Daily, N.R.A. director of publications, Joe Graham had this to say, "It's just not the right political climate with elections so near," he said. "Nobody wants to hear about machine guns right now. We don't need to take a step backward. We need to move forward." All of Front Sight is disgusted by the N.R.A.'s lack of involvement, but they keep going despite it.
